Our pastor

Maxwell J Muska (who will answer to Pastor Max, Rev. Muska, or just Max) became the pastor of First Presbyterian in January of 2017. Max grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has lived in the Pittsburgh area his whole life until moving to Manchester.

He graduated from Westminster College (New Wilmington, PA) in 2010 and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 2015.

Before coming to Iowa, Pastor Max served for a year and a half as temporary pastor of two rural churches near New Castle and Volant, PA, Harlansburg Presbyterian and Rich Hill Presbyterian.

Max has been married to his wife Heather since 2011. They have a daughter named Harper, born in December, 2015 and a six-year-old cat named Squeak.

As far as hobbies go, Max enjoys playing and writing music (he played in a few rock and heavy metal bands in high school and college), hiking, biking, geocaching, and watching movies of any kind.
